What to do after BOTOX treatment?

Essential Aesthetics
BOTOX® Cosmetic & Dysport®

After receiving a Botox treatment, following some post-treatment care guidelines is important to ensure optimal results and minimize potential side effects. We usually provide aftercare instructions to our clients through either text or email.

Here are some general recommendations to consider:

Avoid touching or rubbing the treated areas: For the first 24 hours after the procedure, it’s best to avoid touching or rubbing the injected areas. This helps prevent the spread of the toxin to unintended muscles.

Avoid strenuous exercise: Refrain from strenuous physical activity or exercise for the first 24 hours following the treatment. Elevated heart rate and increased blood flow to the face may potentially affect the distribution of Botox.

Stay upright: Try to remain in an upright position for at least four hours after the treatment. This helps ensure that the Botox settles in the intended areas.

Avoid heat exposure: For the first few days after treatment, avoid exposure to excessive heat, such as saunas, hot tubs, or prolonged sun exposure. Heat can increase blood flow and potentially affect the results of the treatment.

Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications: Refrain from consuming alcohol and medications or supplements that thin the blood (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for a few days after the treatment. These substances can increase the risk of bruising at the injection sites.

Be patient: Botox results are not immediate. It typically takes a few days to start noticing the effects, and the full results usually develop within two weeks. Give your body time to respond to the treatment.

We will schedule a follow-up appointment with PA Ellie DMSc, in two weeks to assess the results and address any concerns or questions.
