Juvederm Volux is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based injectable filler that mainly defines and sculpts the jawline while improving an aging mandible and loss of mandibular height. Ellie Zarnegar, PA, DMSc, knows our patient’s goal and recognizes the critical distinction between masculinizing and feminizing the lower mandibular angle.

What exactly is Juvederm Volux?

Juvederm Volux is specifically designed to enhance and contour the chin and jawline. It is part of the Juvederm product line, which consists of hyaluronic acid-based fillers used for facial rejuvenation and augmentation. Juvederm Volux is formulated with a thicker gel consistency compared to other Juvederm fillers, allowing it to provide more structural support and definition to the lower face. It is commonly used to add volume to the chin and jawline, improve the appearance of a weak or receding chin, and create a more defined and sculpted lower face profile.

How does it function?

Juvederm Volux is often injected deep into the bone around the jawline and chin to add definition and balance to the lower face. In addition, the Juvederm Volux filler gives structural support and shapes the jaw, making it appear elongated and slimmer.

Who is Juvederm Volux intended for?

Anyone who has lost moderate to severe jawline definition, a depressed chin, or jowls. Juvederm Volux can also be used in other face areas to improve definition and volume loss and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm Volux attracts and retains moisture, helping to plump and lift the treated areas.

The results of Volux are typically long-lasting, with effects lasting up to 18 months or more, depending on individual factors such as metabolism and lifestyle. The degree of chin augmentation required depends on the level of chin recession, each person’s facial anatomy, and the amount of product injected. Generally, even two or three syringes can make a significant difference.

What are the negative consequences?

You should expect comparable adverse effects to other filler treatments, including pain at injection sites, swelling, lumps, and bruising, but these should go away in approximately two weeks. Infection and vascular blockage are two additional possible side effects of Juvederm Volux—or any filler. As with any dermal filler, Juvederm Volux will be administered by advanced aesthetic injector PA Ellie, DMSc, who with many years of experience and training in injectable treatments. PA Ellie DMSc, will assess your specific concerns and goals, and determine if Juvederm Volux is the appropriate option for you.

Before your appointment, avoid ibuprofen, fish oils, and aspirin to reduce bruising. You should also abstain from drinking and exercise for at least 24 hours. Our office will provide instructions before your appointment.

How long do the effects last?

Following injection, the results can be immediate. You can expect a considerable improvement in your jawline lasting from a year to a year and a half.
