Non-Surgical Facial Contouring

Non-Surgical Facial Contouring

The year 2012 was a turning point for makeup when Kim Kardashian posted a before and after photo of herself pre- and post-contour. Since then, people have revolutionized the use of bronzer, highlighter, and blush to create prominent cheekbones and perfectly defined jawlines. Although makeup can be used to enhance our facial features, it doesn’t create long-lasting results like Botox and dermal fillers can.

At Essential Aesthetics, our certified medical provider, Ellie Zarnegar, PA, DMSc, uses her expertise and precision to subtly change and reshape the contours of your face.

Dermal Fillers

One of the most popular treatments for non-invasive facial contouring is dermal fillers because of the variety that is available and their versatility. When injected into wrinkles, folds, and hollows of the face, a smoother and more contoured shape is created. Fillers can help create a lifted appearance in the cheeks, elongate the chin for an oval- or heart-shaped face shape, define the jawline, make the nose of the bridge higher, correct facial asymmetries, and much more. Hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers such as Juvederm work by absorbing water to create plumpness and fullness, while also stimulating the production of new collagen over time.

Botox

Everyone knows that Botox is used to prevent wrinkles, but did you know it can also be used to slim down the jawline? When injected into the masseter muscle, the muscle responsible for chewing, Botox causes it to relax and atrophy over time. It can also be injected into the chin to reduce its wrinkling and elongate it.

Kybella & CoolSculpting

Sometimes the only thing standing between you and your defined jawline is a double chin. Kybella and CoolSculpting can be used to target the fat cells under your chin and neck to create a contoured jaw. Kybella is an injectable composed of deoxycholic acid which melts fat cells, whereas CoolSculpting selectively freezes and destroys fat cells. While the results of both are permanent, it can take anywhere from 1-3 months and multiple treatment sessions to see the final results.

Radio Frequency

Radio frequency (RF) treatments use electrical energy to generate heat and trigger skin tightening. At high enough temperatures, RF can even melt fat. RF can be used around the cheekbones, on the jawline, and under the chin for plumper, tighter, and lifted skin.
