What is
Botox Cosmetic?
Facial lines form due to repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising the brows. BOTOX Cosmetic works beneath the skin to temporarily reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults, making them appear younger. BOTOX Cosmetic belongs to the category of neuromodulators and is effective for dynamic wrinkles. Dr. Ellie Zarnegar uses neuromodulators to treat several areas of wrinkles, including frown lines, bunny lines, dimpling on the chin, and neck area such as platysmal neckbands.

What Type Of Wrinkles
Does Botox Cosmetic treat?
Botox cosmetics treat dynamic wrinkles, which form from repeatedly making facial expressions such as smiling, squinting, or laughing. As we age and our skin loses elasticity, these static lines and wrinkles become deeper and show regardless of facial expression. Dr. Ellie treats static wrinkles with dermal fillers.
What are Dynamic Wrinkles?
Dynamic wrinkles typically appear on the upper portion of the face, consisting of horizontal creases across the brow, frown lines, fan-shaped creases on the outer corners of the eyes, and crow’s feet.
BOTOX temporarily freezes the muscle, allowing the wrinkles to relax. BOTOX Cosmetic can also be injected into the Orbicularis Oculi pretarsal, Masseter, Mentalis, Depressor Anguli Oris, and Platysmal bands.
Adding dermal fillers for deep lines the same day with your BOTOX Cosmetic treatment can enhance your results and help with BOTOX longevity. Dermal fillers volumize the static lines, the deep lines that are not moving, and need dermal filler for collagen stimulation, such as the perioral area and oral commissure lines.
