Elham “Ellie” Zarnegar is the Founder and Clinical Director of Essential Aesthetics, an advanced medical spa in Danville, California.

PA Zarnegar’s interest in medicine began from her time as a Nurse Midwife in Iran, where she worked extensively in rural communities. She earned an additional Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia while working as a Research Specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs and Emory University. PA Ellie achieved her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Seton Hall University. She is also currently a candidate for the Doctor of Medical Sciences (DMSc) program from the University of Lynchburg and will be graduating in June of 2021.
As an advanced practice provider, PA Ellie has a wide range of experience in general surgery & emergency medicine, urgent care, and family practice, both in hospital and outpatient settings – but her true passion is aesthetic medicine. Her precision and unique approach in using neuromodulators and dermal fillers in new and innovative ways has given her a reputation as a master injector all throughout California. She is also an advanced aesthetic laser expert and is trained to use several laser applications for skin resurfacing, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and tattoos. PA Ellie has additionally spent years perfecting the craft of body sculpting and is a Master CoolSculpting Specialist. She is passionate about giving the best results for her patients by incorporating a healthy lifestyle with the best methods and techniques with CoolSculpting.
PA Ellie is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
Abishai Rumano, M.D., FAAFP
Dr. Abishai Rumano is the Medical Director of Essential Aesthetics, providing the medical support and expertise that keeps our Danville medical spa patients beautiful, healthy, and satisfied. Dr. Rumano holds a board certification in family medicine, and he’s also a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Rumano graduated from the University of Colorado in 1981 and completed his residency at University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. Dr. Rumano has practiced in California’s Central Valley, as well as Napa County, for more than 30 years. He has advanced training in numerous laser applications, neuromodulator and dermal filler injections, and CoolSculpting.
Dr. Rumano has received a number of professional accolades — including a nomination for Values in Action with St. Joseph Medical Center, an award given annually to those who have shown a strong commitment in representing each of St. Joseph’s 4 core values: dignity, service, excellence, and justice. This prestigious nomination recognizes Dr. Rumano’s contributions to St. Joseph’s, his personal commitment to living their core values, and the respect Dr. Rumano has earned from his peers.
Janice Pagtakhan, RN, CoolSculpting Specialist
Nurse Janice has been practicing as a Registered Nurse for 14 years and has been a part of the Essential Aesthetics team for the past 5 years. She has experience in various fields of nursing such as internal medicine, telemetry, and psychiatry, but her true passion is aesthetic nursing.
Over the past 5 years, Janice has expanded her knowledge in the art of body contouring vastly. She has extensive knowledge of CoolSculpting and uses a “Treatment to Transformation” protocol to achieve optimal outcomes. At the time of your consultation, Janice helps to identify your treatment goals and performs a thorough 360 assessment. She treats candidates as individuals and is not hesitant to educate and direct you to other options if she does not think you are fit for CoolSculpting.
Janice incorporates her unique “fire and ice” body contouring technique which combines radiofrequency energy to help tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite. She is passionate about non-surgical body sculpting and is highly skilled in this field.

Tara Rahimi, Patient Care Coordinator
Tara joined Essential Aesthetics after graduating from Chico State with her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology. She serves as our Patient Care Coordinator and has been an asset to office operations.
Tara is an essential part of communication between the providers and the patients. She has a passion for educating patients and helping them by making sure all questions are answered before and after each treatment, providing them with aftercare, and promoting proper skin care products. Our patients love her positive attitude and how she always goes above and beyond for them. Tara works directly with PA Zarnegar and acts as a liaison between the providers and the patients. Tara was born and raised in Walnut Creek. When she isn’t in the office, she is preparing for her PA school applications and engaging with different charity organizations in the Bay Area.
