Simple, comfortable, and effective, microneedling treatments have become one of Danville’s favorite options for versatile skin rejuvenation. At Essential Aesthetics, we use radiofrequency (RF)-assisted microneedling called VoluDerm to stimulate and promote the regeneration of collagen and elastin fibers in the deeper dermis, encouraging the skin to clear away any common aesthetic concerns.
A Candidate For Microneedling
At Essential Aesthetics, we believe each patient is a world of their own – complete, unique, and singular. Everyone has different concerns when it comes to their skin, which is why we use a combination of tripolar technology and RF-assisted microneedling. This technology allows us to tailor the right treatment for every patient, with the flexibility of treating a wide range of skin types, ethnicities, and imperfections. If you are concerned about fine lines and wrinkles, scars such as stretch marks and acne scars, and uneven or rough skin tone, microneedling could be the solution for you. Since this is a minimally invasive procedure, it can be used for different skin types and require little to no downtime.
Microneedling Treatment Works
This treatment works by activating the body’s natural healing processes by applying RF-assisted thermal ultra-thin electrodes ablation, creating microchannels to induce controlled micro-wounds, thus encouraging the generation of healthy skin. With RF-assisted microneedling, we are able to pick from an array of disposable tips depending on the skin being treated. Unlike other microneedling devices on the market, VoluDerm™ does not puncture the skin. Each tip holds the thinnest electrodes on the market to induce controlled micro-wounds and thermal damage. TriFractional™ energy is also used to heat the skin, causing coagulation in the blood, achieving skin resurfacing and regeneration of the tissue.
VoluDerm™ and TriFractional™ are used as a combination therapy technique that reaches multiple layers of the skin, resulting in skin resurfacing and regeneration as well as wrinkle reduction The best part is that this treatment creates long-term results.
To Expect During Treatment
Each combination therapy treatment usually takes about 30 minutes. During the treatment, you may experience itching or warmth sensations, which will only last for a short amount of time.
The Downtime After Microneedling
After the RF-assisted microneedling treatment, there is an immediate, noticeable improvement in facial appearance. Some swelling and redness are normal and could last a couple of hours and up to a few days. Our office will provide you with a cold pack to help reduce these side effects. We recommend avoiding makeup and moisturizer for about 24 hours. There might also be some minor scabbing that will naturally heal and shed off. Hot baths, massages, or any mechanical or thermal damage to the treated area should also be avoided. Cleanse the area with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser that does not exfoliate or scrub the skin. Avoid direct sun exposure immediately after the treatment and regularly apply sunscreen of at least SPF 30.
Treatments Are Recommended
The number of procedures needed will depend on the area being treated and its condition. Our certified medical provider, Dr. Ellie Zarnegar, will evaluate the area being treated and come up with a plan that will best fit your individual needs.
