Why

Sculptra?

Would you like to turn back time 10-15 years? If so, you have come to the right place! Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved treatment that stimulates collagen, gradually giving you a more youthful appearance. Unlike hyaluronic acids (HA) fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane, Sculptra is a Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA) treatment. PLLA is a collagen stimulator that works deep within the deep dermis to help revitalize collagen production and restore your skin’s inner structure and volume. Sculptra Aesthetic works subtly and gradually over time for results that can last more than two years.

Why is

Collagen Important

Age-induced collagen loss weakens your skin’s inner structure, reducing its ability to maintain elasticity and moisture. This weakened inner structure can lead to lines, wrinkles, and folds and a loss of skin volume and support. Although HA dermal fillers address lines, wrinkles, and folds, they do not treat the root of the problem – collagen loss or skin structure. This is where Sculptra comes in to help correct those deeper problems.

What is

Sculptra Aesthetic?

As we age, we lose collagen, which causes the skin to grow thinner and less elastic resulting in wrinkles and sagging skin. With Sculptra Aesthetic, collagen begins to rebuild slowly, restoring fullness and smoothing out wrinkles and folds.

Sculptra Aesthetic works using the three Rs:

Replace

Injectable PLLA works to stimulate the growth of lost collagen.

Restore

Naturally stimulated collagen provides a foundation that gradually helps restore fullness by correcting shallow to deep folds and wrinkles.

Refine

This results in correcting wrinkles and folds that help provide a more refined appearance that can last more than two years.

What

Sculptra Aesthetic Can Treat

Facial Rejuvenation

Sculptra is typically used on the temples, the mid-cheek region, and the lower face to treat hollowing, depressions, fine wrinkles, and marionette lines. Sculptra can be administered evenly in these areas, or customized injections can be administered to specific target sites. Additionally, Sculptra has been gaining popularity for body contouring procedures like buttock augmentation and cellulite reduction.

Sculptra Butt Lift
Sculptra Butt Lift

Are you doing squats in the gym without noticing any difference in your buttocks? Have you noticed your buttocks become saggier and lose firmness over the years? If so, our Sculptra Buttocks Lift might be the non-invasive solution you have been looking for! We are one of the first medical spas in the East Bay to offer Sculptra as a butt enhancement filler. Sculptra is designed to lift and create a natural fullness to the butt. Butt augmentations have become increasingly popular recently, and Sculptra is a great alternative to a Brazilian Butt Lift.

Our expert injector, Dr. Ellie Zarnegar, will mark the deficient areas during your appointment. She then will inject the solution into the marked areas to create more voluminous buttocks.

Sculptra for Cellulite

Dimples on cheeks are cute, but most of us hate dimples anywhere else on our bodies (cellulite)! Sculptra can reduce and diminish cellulite’s appearance by filling them with collagen to make your skin smooth.

At your appointment, Dr. Ellie will locate and mark the areas of cellulite that bother you. She will then fill them with Sculptra to stimulate new collagen and make your skin smooth and supple.

How Many

Treatments Are Needed

On average, patients receive three vials of Sculptra Aesthetic over a few months. The number of Sculptra injections and treatment visits varies, depending on the area being treated and the degree of correction needed.

How Long

Does Sculptra Last

Sculptra Aesthetic lasts about two years, but some reports have shown it to last up to five years.

Your Experience

with Sculptra Aesthetic

Dr. Ellie will explore whether Sculptra Aesthetic is the right treatment for you during your consultation. If you are the right candidate, she will create a treatment plan to achieve your desired outcomes. The majority of patients require numerous injections separated by several weeks.

Dr. Ellie will map the injection sites when you come in for the treatment. A topical anesthetic may be applied before the injection process. The entire process typically takes between 30-45 minutes.

What

to Expect After Treatment

After treatment, you may notice some redness, mild swelling, bruising, or facial tenderness. You can minimize these effects by periodically applying an ice pack wrapped in a cloth 24 hours following your appointment.

You may resume your normal activities after your appointment, although we advise you to hold off on exercise and alcohol for the first 24 hours.

It is important to remember the Rule of 5 – massage the treated area for 5 minutes, five times per day for five days after treatment.
